ABOUT QUID NOVI:
The Name: "Quid Novi" translates from the Latin as "what's happening." We spent some time thinking about a name. Suggestions included "DFAC News," "Sonoran Starlight," "Observer," "North Valley Skies," "North Valley Observer," and "Prime Focus." These are all great names, and the choice was difficult. We were looking for something truly unique. When we mentioned our quandary to a friend who teaches Latin, he suggested "Quid Novi." Our members liked it, thus, we made it so.
Our newsletter is published once each month, September through May, with a special Summer Supplement in July, and available here for download at no charge. We decided to use an electronic format to save on printing costs, given the penetration of internet access (65% in 2006). Members may request a printed copy delivered by US mail for a slightly higher membership fee. All newsletters from previous years have been digitally archived here.
Submission deadline: Content must be received no later the last day of the month before the month of publication. We'll attempt to accommodate later submissions, but make no guarantees.
To print a hardcopy: We don't recommend printing a hardcopy, since one of our reasons for going with an electronic newsletter was to save on paper. But if you must ... note that our website uses frames. So if you don't want to include the menu frame along the left side of every page, the best way to print a hardcopy from your computer is to do the following.
