SERVICES:

Educational Programs:

DFAC is an educational resource for the north Valley. We can provide an evening observing session for your educational or civic group. Our members will arrive around sunset to deploy their telescopes, provide spectacular views of celestial objects, and answer your questions about all things astronomical. These observing sessions typically last 2-3 hours, depending on season. Celestial objects visible will also vary by season. Contact us if you are interested in reserving a date, but please plan ahead and allow at least a month of lead time. These programs are in high demand and, unlike the cosmos, our resources are finite.

Astronomy Night for Boulder Creek High School:

Once each year, in exchange for their providing our meeting facilities, DFAC hosts an Astronomy Night for the Boulder Creek High School Astronomy Club. This event is open to all members of the BCHS community. DFAC members will deploy their telescopes for the edification and enlightenment of all who attend. The date and location for this event are chosen near the start of every school year. Watch for more details in Quid Novi.

Observing Sessions for Other Groups:

We provide complimentary observing sessions for north valley schools and civic organizations, church groups, scout troops, and other non-profit entities. Donations, of course, are gratefully accepted. We also do "for hire" private observing sessions that can be customized to your needs. Typically, we charge $100 per telescope per evening, with one telescope recommended for every 10 observers. Sessions usually start at sunset and last 3 hours. Contact us for details and fees specific to your event.
